The impact and influence that Graeme has had on my life, both personally and professionally, is beyond words.

In 2002, I was a broken-hearted 21-year-old University drop-out, suffering from Post Traumatic Stress - I had absolutely no idea who I was anymore, or what I wanted to do with my life. To appease my parents, I took a job at the local Group Training Organisation and was assigned to be trained by Senior Officer Graeme Thompson. This was the “sliding doors” moment of my life.

In my experience, Graeme was the epitome of what a mentor should be. He openly shared his endless knowledge and willingly answered my questions; he taught me the value of honesty and integrity; he knew when to speak and when to listen, how to encourage and motivate. Within six months I was promoted out of my twelve-month Trainee position: not only did Graeme believe in me, but he had management believing in me and my potential also. The greatest gift Graeme gave me, however, was he even had me believing in myself. In this way, Graeme changed my whole life for the better.
